Need a little help achieving fuller, more defined brows? Microblading is a semi-permanent procedure where a special eyebrow pen is used to tattoo strokes that mimic the appearance of eyebrow hair. Unlike an eyebrow pencil that you wipe off at night before you go to sleep, or worse, that accidentally fades throughout the day, microbladed eyebrows stay put, giving you shape that can last from one to three years, depending on certain factors.
What to Know About Microblading
What is Microblading?
Microblading, also known as Eyebrow Embroidery, is a procedure categorized under permanent makeup, but unlike traditional cosmetic tattooing, it is less invasive and semi-permanent.
Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years, depending on skin type and skincare routine. The procedure is done using a hand tool with ultra fine needles and each 'hair' is gently etched into the skin, giving an incredibly natural and realistic look. Microblading is excellent for those wanting to enhance their brows or who have little to no eyebrows, thinning brows from age or over tweezed brows. Pigments used are chosen to match the natural or desired brow color and skin tone will also be taken into consideration.
Who is ineligible for Microblading services?
Candidates who are seeking permanent makeup and who may be contraindicated (meaning those that I cannot service) are:
Anyone under 18 years of age
People with diabetes
Pregnant and lactating women
People with glaucoma and people who are taking blood thinning medicines (e.g., Aspirin).
People with skin diseases such as psoriasis, eczema, and undiagnosed rashes or blisters on the area that is to be treated
People with allergies to makeup or colors
Those with easily triggered post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
Active skin cancer in the area to be treated
Have healing disorders, uncontrolled high blood pressure or had Mitral Valve Disorder.
Those on any skin medication such as Accutaine or steroids which thin and make the skin more sensitive
Anyone with allergic reactions to topical anesthetics
How should I prepare for my appointment?
The week before your appointment, we recommend avoiding blood thinners, aspirin, alcohol or using retinol creams. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, ibuprofen, aspirin and fish oil supplements for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.
Be prepared to lie very still for a long period of time. Many patients bring headphones to listen to music during their appointment.
Wear comfortable clothing. Many of our patients like to bring a sweater to help keep them relaxed.
Avoid waxing, threading or tweezing your eyebrows 5 days prior to your appointment.
Patients often find it helpful to bring in pictures of their ideal brow shape or color as it helps them to communicate their brow goals.
IT IS RECOMMENDED TO STAY OUT OF THE SUN 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO YOUR APPOINTMENT AND 2 WEEKS AFTER. PLAN ACCORDINGLY.

Eyelift or blepharoplasty – Wait about 3 months.
Eyelash extensions – AFTER permanent makeup, not before. Or remove them before your procedure.
Pinkeye – As soon as their infection has cleared, medication completed.
Cold Sores – Clients with a history of cold sores need to pre-medicate with an anti-viral drug (Zoviraz, Valtrex, or Acyclovir) prior to a lip coloring procedure.

CONSULTATIONS AND APPOINTMENTS
All appointments begin with a detailed consultation. The non-refundable consultation fee of $100.00 also acts as your appointment deposit and will go towards the full price of your microblading service. The $100.00 consultation fee is non-refundable and non-transferable whether you show up for the consultation or whether you cancel within 24 hours of its scheduled time.
During your consultation, Yulisa will work with you to discuss your goals, shape of your existing brows, and any problem areas you wish to address. After your consultation, and before your microblading service commences, the balance of your microblading service (the full cost –$100.00 deposit) must be paid in full. The remaining balance should be paid in CASH or with Zelle.
During the consultation, it will be determined whether you are an appropriate candidate for microblading or not. There is a possibility that you will not be eligible for receiving the service. Save your time and money and read the eligibility requirements in the “What to Know” section above!
